Sore Throat and Cough Drops: You Can Make Yourself
Do you remember having a painful sore throat, or annoying cough, and wanting to have a soothing cough drop to help you feel better? If you do, like me, you would also appreciate having something you can quickly make yourself, that is not only effective but healthy, money saving, and easy to make.
Ingredients: 1 Garlic Clove
1 Knuckle of Ginger (or more to your choosing)
1 Tablespoon of Dried Lemon Balm
2 Sprigs of Dried Peppermint Leaves
1/2 Cup Organic Raw Honey
1/2 Cup Organic Cane Sugar
1 Cup Water
Candy Mold
In addition, often times over the counter cough and cold remedies, are not all-natural, or even healthy, as they can contain high amounts of additives: ie. high fructose corn syrup, dyes, preservatives and more items that you would not want to regularly consume normally, let alone when you are not feeling well.
It is also important to note that when ill, it is best not to use numbing medications that mask symptoms; but to use something that will truly heal, rather than bandage a problem. So I avoid and do not recommend numbing throat sprays, or lozenges for this reason.
Over time, if we are eating and living a healthy lifestyle, we are less prone to ailments such as the common sore throat and cough. However, until then, always try to use something healthy and wholesome that will provide healing and rejuvenation, and not exposure to unhealthy chemicals that do not heal.
Try some of these delicious and healthy cough drops for yourself, if you or your family are under the weather. Make enough to share!
NOTE: If you have any health condition that is not improving or worsening after trying home remedies, please seek qualified medical attention, as not all sore throats or coughs are best treated at home.
